Reader Submission: Women hating on women
I saw this post today:

and I find it very unsettling.
I know I’m just assuming this person is a woman, but regardless of gender this is upsetting. And there’s a queer pride banner on the site and everything, you’d expect a person who advocates for love and acceptance for everyone to not propagate sexist material.
Maybe I just “can’t take a joke?”
Thoughts?

I saw this floating around tumblr and after checking other posts from the person whose blog you’ve linked this from, I honestly can’t tell if it’s supposed to be sexist, or making a statement at how women are viewed. Either way, it doesn’t work for me, because if it’s the first, you’re right it’s an un-funny attempt at sexism. However, if it’s the second, even if they are trying to make a statement about how often women are pigeon-holed into being “bitch”, the men are all still a bunch of labels as well. That’s not much better. There is no identity behind nerd or jock for example. Those can be attributes to your person or descriptors, but they do not make you. I’m on board with you on this one.
