Another argument that is invalid? Saying that you wish you lived, or better yet, that “you were meant to be born” in the 50’s for example, because those folks had cool fashion and good music.

That may be true, but they also had a lot of other - for kicks, let’s just say oppressive - factors contributing to the era that did not look good - no matter what shoes you wore, or what song was playing. I fail to see the correlation between nostalgia for these few things, and claiming to want to actually live in the racist, sexist era itself. Unless I’m missing something here…

Have the nostalgia for the things like the clothes and the tunes, but saying you want to actually live and breathe that world, to go as far as to re-write and romanticize it, that is another thing entirely.
